Shaolin Fundamentals

This class may be used as one of the days for guest Shaolin students already training on Wednesday or Saturday and a required practice for all orthodox Shaolin students. 

 

MONDAY: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Ji Ben Dong Zuo (基本動作) Basic movements

Tan Tui Shi Er Lu 譚腿十二路 12 Tan legs (24 lines)

Jing Wu Ji Ben 精武基本 16 sections (32 lines) Basics

Shaolin Shi Ba Tui, 少林十八腿 Shaolin 18 legs

Luohan Ma Deng Cao, 羅漢馬蹬操 Horse position/stepping exercise   

Da Sha Bao, 打 沙包 Sand bag punching and conditioning

Bu Zhou 步驟 Stepping

Zhang Kai 張開 Stretching

Dui Da 對打 Basics of fighting 

Xing Zou 行走 Ducking, evading, shrinking and rolling.

Family Class / Introduction to Traditional Shaolin Wushu

This, one day a week class is for adults with children (8 and older) who would like to experience and learn about Shaolin traditions. They must attend with their children. Children can start at the age of 8 and must be accompanied by a parent (parent also participates in the class). At the age of 12 they can participate without a parent.

Introduction to Shaolin Chang Shou Bagua
少林八卦長壽

MONDAY: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM

The purpose of Shaolin Chang Shou training and practice is to improve health

and longevity. Some of the benefits of this training include:

• bone health,

• cardiopulmonary fitness 

• physical function,

• falls prevention and balance,

• immunity,

• psychological factors such as anxiety– depression and self-efficacy
